Ram Brewery has unveiled plans to regenerate the site and Wandsworth town centre.

Over 9,500sq metres of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and 1200 spaces for parking bikes are included in the proposal from Minerva Ltd.

It also plans to create 669 new homes across the brewery and Capital Studios sites.

“We believe the plans will preserve and bring new life to the heritage brewery buildings, open up public access to the River Wandle, attract high quality retail to the town centre and create hundreds of jobs,” said Tim Garnham, Minerva’s Joint Chief Executive.

The brewery hopes to create 500 permanent jobs in the area and a further 370 during the construction of the area.

In a recent questionnaire 83% of residents said they supported the proposed scheme.

“The most appealing aspect is the opportunity to make Wandsworth Town one of South London’s destination centres,” said a resident supporting the application.

Overall the plans include 2.8 acres of open space with areas for markets and cafes.

The waterfront will feature an improved habitat for wildlife, bridge, footpath links and terraced areas set back from the river.

A further exhibition will be held on site on Thursday 29 November and Saturday 1 December for people to see the plans and talk to the project team.

It will be held at The Ram Brewery, Wandsworth, SW18. Residents are asked to come to the Ram Street entrance on arrival.
