Clapham Grand‘s Pride parties to promote community network with discounted tickets

The Clapham Grand have launched £10 community tickets for their two party Pride events on Saturday 5 July.

The discounted tickets, usually priced at £25, are part of a wider initiative to welcome more community groups to the historically charming South West London Victorian music hall.

The Clapham Grand’s Manager & Programmer, Ally Wolf, said: “We want to welcome all local LGBTQ communities from South West London and beyond.

“We don’t want Pride to price out the community it is meant to service.

“We are throwing our biggest ever day of celebrations this Pride weekend, and are opening our doors to the queer community and their allies of South West London, so come and have a wonderful Pride with us.”

Wolf said that the aim of the £10 tickets was to introduce the Clapham Grand to a larger network of community groups, from sports club, theatre companies and orchestras to knitting groups, charities and spin classes.

By signing up on behalf of your local community group you can receive exclusive offers and benefit from more frequent use of the great space the venue has to offer.

This year to celebrate Pride they are hosting two packed parties in one day.

The Day Party from 5pm till 10pm will feature Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle and the Clapham Grand’s resident drag artist, Miss LeighDing.

Their Pride After Party then begins at 10.30pm and runs until 3am, for the night owls wanting to party with a live set from TULISA of N-Dubz fame and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star and activist, BIMINI.

The events will also raise funds through donations from ticket sales and a special charity cocktail for Not A Phase, a trans-led, nationwide charity committed to uplifting and improving the lives of trans+ adults.

Wolf said that he wanted to encourage community groups to get in touch to make use of the space for meetings, rehearsals and social functions every day of the week, making the Grand a hub of community activity.

Local groups which currently benefit from the Clapham Grand community network include London Otters rowing, Clapham Feelers rugby, Queerz Night quiz event and local South West London-based theatre groups.
