Body found in Clapham back garden believed to be stowaway fallen from Kenya Airways flight to Heathrow

The body of a man believed to have been a stowaway on a Kenya Airways flight on its way to Heathrow was found yesterday in a Clapham back garden.

Police are working to identify the man after being called on Sunday afternoon to Offerton Road, where officers attended with London Ambulance Service.

Officers think the man was a stowaway and had fallen from the landing gear of an inbound Kenya Airways flight to Heathrow Airport. A bag, water and some food were discovered in the landing gear compartment once it landed at the airport.

A crime scene was put in place but has since been closed, and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course. Police are working to establish the man’s identity.
