Police are warning the public not to approach a man they are hunting in connection with the murder of a 55-year-old man at a Morden betting shop last week.

Andrew Iacovou was found dead at the Aberconway Road branch of Ladbrokes at 8:30am on Saturday morning.

The father-of-two was alone in the shop when the attacker walked in and forced his way behind the counter.

“At this early stage it appears the deceased was attacked in the shop by a lone male suspect,” a Metropolitan police spokesman said.

“It is not known at this time whether any money was taken.”

A post-mortem examination, held at St George’s Hospital in Tooting, gave the cause of death as a blunt trauma to the head.

Scotland Yard have released two pictures of a man in a baseball cap who they want to speak to regarding the death.

“Members of the public should not approach the man and are advised to contact police immediately,” added the spokesman.
