A man has been arrested after two people were fatally stabbed in Whitton yesterday.
Police and London Ambulance Service attended attended a house in Redfern Avenue at 09.40am where a man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s were found fatally stabbed.
Post-mortem examinations will be held in due course. Formal identification awaits, however officers believe they know the identity of the two victims and their family are being supported by family liaison officers.
A 31-year-old man was arrested in Slough on suspicion of murder at around 3pm on yesterday.
Chief Superintendent Sally Benatar, who leads the Met’s South West Command Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the two victims.
“I want to reassure members of the community that this was an isolated incident. Having arrested a man this afternoon, we are not looking for anybody else in connection with the two deaths.
“I would like to express my thanks to emergency services colleagues, including Thames Valley Police who have supported our response to this incident.”
