Police looking for two men in relation to serious assault in Chiswick

Two men are being looked for by police in connection with a serious assault in Chiswick last month that left a man with lasting injuries.

Officers were called to a pub in Chiswick High Road at 11:20pm on Saturday, 19 February following reports that a man had been stabbed.

They found a 40-year-old man with serious injuries to his head, neck, arm and hand that required extensive reconstructive surgery.

Detectives have identified 30-year-old John Paul McDonagh and 19-year-old Shamus Mongan as people they wish to speak to about the incident.

Detective Sergeant Luke Taylor said: “This was an unprovoked attack that left the victim with really serious injuries that will have a lasting impact.

“This sort of violence cannot be allowed to stand and we will do all we can to bring those responsible to justice.

“We have carried out a number of enquiries since the incident and have been able to identify two named individuals who we want to locate and speak to urgently.

“We have taken the decision to release their photos and their names in the hope that someone knows them, or knows where they are.”

The Met Police also claimed the man would require ongoing treatment and rehabilitation.

McDonagh is from Greenford while Mongan is from Hendon but both men are known to frequent other areas and could be anywhere in London.

Another man was also subjected to an assault by multiple people, leaving him with a broken nose, swelling and bruising.
