Person dead after being hit by train at Raynes Park rail station – commuter journeys grind to a halt

Train services between Woking and Waterloo are severely disrupted this morning after a person was struck by a train at Raynes Park station.

Emergency services are on site to deal with the incident with a National Rail spokesman announcing that delays of up to 60 minutes should be expected to South West Trains through Wimbledon until 1pm today.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Shortly before 9.30am on Monday, December 7, we were called to Raynes Park rail station following reports of a person having been struck by a train.

“Our officers are currently at the station – along with colleagues from London Ambulance Service – and have determined that a person had been struck and killed by a train.

“The incident is still ongoing and officers are working to identify the deceased and determine how they came to be on the tracks.”
