Phoebe Waller-Bridge to bring Fleabag back to London for West End show

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is reprising her role of Fleabag for the last time on stage in the West End in the summer.

Fleabag will appear on a limited four week run at the Wyndham Theatre in London.

The show, directed by Vicky Jones, will preview from 20 August, with the run officially opening on 28 August and ending on 14 September.

Fans queued online for the tickets which went on sale yesterday at 3pm, and sold out within just an hour.

However, tickets will be released on the day of each show for those unsuccessful in booking in advance.

Ms Waller-Bridge has just finished a sold-out run of Fleabag off-Broadway in New York at the Soho Playhouse, which earned several nominations, including Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance, a Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show, and a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance.

A spokesperson for Soho Theatre and Annapurna Theatre said: “It’s a privilege to have contributed to the journey of Fleabag with Phoebe thus far and we couldn’t be more pleased the show is returning home to London alongside DryWrite for a West End run.”

Fleabag began as a one woman show at the Soho Theatre before moving to Edinburgh Fringe 2013, receiving rave reviews.

It was subsequently adapted into a TV series, which has won awards including a BAFTA and a British Screenwriters’ Award.

Some of Ms Waller-Bridge’s other work includes penning the hit BBC TV series Killing Eve, starring Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh.
