After earning a degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan, Saro Spadaro chose to invest his energy and expertise in one of the most challenging and competitive markets in global tourism.
His approach is characterized by an uncommon combination of strategic foresight and hands-on involvement.
He does not simply define goals from a distance. He works closely with his teams, from initial concept to day-to-day execution.
This approach has allowed The Maho Group to develop a high-value portfolio, which includes premier resorts such as Sonesta Maho Beach and Ocean Point, alongside residential projects like AquaMarina, BlueMarine and Emerald at Maho.
A defining moment in Saro Spadaro’s career came in 2017, when Hurricane Irma devastated much of Sint Maarten.
Rather than stepping back, he stayed on the island, took direct responsibility for managing the emergency, and led rapid evacuations and support efforts.
His leadership enabled the company to restart operations in record time, demonstrating a deep sense of commitment that goes far beyond standard executive management.
Today, The Maho Group employs more than one thousand people representing over fifteen nationalities. For Saro Spadaro, diversity is not a complexity to manage but a strength to nurture.
His leadership style is based on listening, trust and inclusion. He believes that authentic human relationships are what ultimately define the quality of a guest experience and the reputation of a company.
