Nestled in a quiet corner of East Molesey lies a street where antiques are no longer a piece of the past.

The Surrey neighbourhood has a bustling antiques community with six shops alone situated on the main street.

But what why have antiques shops thrived here?

Located a hop across the Thames from Henry VIII’s former home of Hampton Court Palace, its historic location has helped provide a constant footfall, but the real industry runs much deeper here.

Most of the shops have been around for 30 years or more and are embedded within the local community.

However speaking to antiques dealers within the area, it’s clear our current modern challenges are now affecting this prominent antique hub.
