Brit Awards 2015 nominations: Rita Ora, Jessie Ware and Lily Allen fly the flag for South West London

Rita Ora leads the way for South West Londoners at the Brits as the pop star who grew up in Chelsea and Kensington is nominated for Best British Video.

South West London will be well represented at the Brit Awards after nominations were revealed this week.

Ora’s I Will Never Let you Down is nominated in one of only two fan-voted categories going up against the likes of tough competition One Direction and former flame Calvin Harris.

The Kosovan-born singer grew up in the area and went to school in Earls Court and North Kensington.

Clapham girl Jessie Ware is nominated for Best British female in recognition for her critically-acclaimed second album, Tough Love.

Although born in Hammersmith, Ware was brought up in Clapham along with older sister Hannah, who has gone on to star in a number of US TV shows.

Ware will be up against Hammersmith local and famous Fulham fan Lily Allen, who is also nominated for Best British Female.

Allen’s Sheezus was one of the most talked about albums of the year and the Cottagers fan had a number of successful singles.

However she drew the ire of the Craven Cottage faithful after being spotted at a Chelsea game, apparently switching her allegiance to join her husband.

Richmond will also be represented in the form of music producer and DJ Route 94.

The 21-year-old grew up in Richmond and has since gone on to have a number one in three countries with the song My Love featuring Jessie Glynne.

My Love earned two nominations, Best British Single and Best British Video, giving Route 94 twice the chance of walking home with a prize.

The Brits will take place on Wednesday February 25 at the o2 Arena.
