Located in the heart of busy Camden is an experience unlike any other, where history comes to life.
It is an unforgettable chance to join the voyage of the Titanic before tragedy unfolded, created by immersive VR entertainment provider Eclipso and entertainment company Fever.

On 1 September, 40 years to the day since the wreckage of the ill-fated ocean liner was discovered, I was invited to attend the Titanic: Echoes from the Past experience with a friend – and it proved to be a real treat.
When we arrived, we were kindly greeted by the staff and taken into the experience room to get suited up with our VR headsets.
From there, we spent around 45 minutes back in 1912, as we were guided through how the Titanic once was, and the wreckage of it now.
The animation was playful, although admittedly it was a bit weird to adjust to when we were on board the ship or underwater.

Nevertheless, we were guided and given information the entire time through the headset.
The experience was specifically focused on and dedicated to William Harbeck, the American photographer who was tasked with officially filming the voyage, the footage of which has never been discovered.
As someone who is not extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Titanic, the experience taught me many things I was not aware of, and also left me wanting to research more.
There was an opportunity to get your photo taken with the iconic Titanic backdrop and to purchase memorabilia as well.

I would say perhaps a brief history of the voyage would be helpful at the beginning of the experience, as people who are not aware of the background may struggle to understand what is going on.
But this experience would be perfect for children as a history trip, especially if they are learning about the experience in school.
My friend who attended with me said: “It was cool, I want to now research more or watch a documentary about the Titanic.”
“It’s especially good for children, but you don’t even need to be interested in the Titanic necessarily to enjoy it.”
The price of tickets is affordable, starting at around £23 for adults, but there is currently a 20% discount on all tickets for the back-to-school season.
The experience is open all 11am-8pm Monday to Friday, and 10am-8pm at weekends.
It is definitely a fun trip, especially for children, and also history fanatics.
