Holland & Barrett launch first of its kind Wellness Pub

Holland & Barrett has launched a pop up in Clerkenwell featuring what it describes as a ‘Wellness Pub’ as part of its new Back Your Body campaign.

Visitors can sample the brand’s hydration range, which launched earlier this year, at The Wellness Tap until 10 June.

The event also featured products from Holland & Barrett’s summer beauty line.

The free, three-day Back Your Body pop up event, features activities such as free hydration pints, healthy snacks, nutritionist-led pub talks, games and quizzes.

Lina Chan, Holland & Barrett’s director of missions said: “We wanted to challenge the idea that enjoying yourself and looking after yourself are mutually exclusive.

“Our research shows that 70% of Brits say a busy summer takes a toll on their wellbeing.”

The launch comes as alcohol consumption declines in recent years. According to Holland & Barrett, younger consumers are looking for trusted health information online.

Chan said: “[Gen Z] are navigating an overwhelming amount of health advice online.

“Our State of the Nation Health report found that many young adults don’t know who to trust when it comes to reliable health information, despite wellness being on of their biggest priorities.”

The NHS Health Survey for England found 25% of 16 to 24-year olds did not drink alcohol in the last 12 months, making it the highest percentage of any other age group.

The dedicated media and influencer day saw an expert-led panel with physician Dr Alex George, and Holland & Barrett’s global product formulation lead Alex Glover.

Chan said the campaign aimed to make wellness “less intimidating and more achievable.”

The Wellness Tap is available in Clerkenwell Green until June 10, with new products available in store.
