Last week saw the three hottest June days ever recorded in the UK, with the heatwave leading to a variety of issues for London’s wildlife.
Birds and small mammals struggle as water sources dry up and the intense heat leaves them with less time to find food. This, in turn, puts pressure on animal charities and rescue centres.
With temperatures expected to exceed 30 degrees again later this week, what can we do to help the city’s animals?
