An Age UK cooking club helping men learn vital nutrition skills is at risk, as its cooker seems to be running out of steam.
Man With A Pan, run by the Richmond branch, is a weekly cooking class for older men, often those who’ve lost their wife and now struggle to make themselves healthy meals.
The class started in 2014 when a widowed gentleman told Age UK he was fed up with eating beans on toast.
Now, the weekly class welcomes dozens of locals, included married men whose wives are tired of doing all the cooking.
But the old cooker shows signs of giving up soon and the charity do not have the spare funds to replace it.
Without the all-important kitchen equipment, current and future participants could lose access to a crucial resource.
