Woman held against wall and punched in eye during brutal Streatham assault – police appeal for witnesses

A woman was assaulted on Helmsdale Road in Streatham at around 7.30pm on September 23, police have now launched an appeal for any witnesses.

The 27-year-old woman was approached by a man who began asking her questions.

When she tried to talk away the man pushed her against a wall and punched her in the right eye before he ran off in the direction of Norbury.

Emergency services were call and the woman was taken to St George’s hospital for treatment on the severe bruising to her eye.

The suspect is described as a white man of medium build, with a shaven head and East European accent. He is about 6ft 2ins tall, aged 40-45 years and was wearing a green camouflage jacket.
