Croydon boxer Charlie Edwards has announced he will be working with Adam Booth – one of the best trainers in the UK.
As part of the move, Edwards – who has won nine of his ten professional fights – will be moving back to London, just a stone’s throw away from Croydon where he grew up.
Edwards is one of the hottest prospects in world boxing, and fought for a world title in just his ninth fight, falling short against John Riel Casimero at the O2 Arena after a brave performance.
In his most recent outing at Wembley Arena he won via third round stoppage.
Edwards said: “I am very pleased to be working with Adam, he is by far one of the best trainers I have done a session with.
“In the next few months and fights, you’re going to see a different fighter come out in me with the knowledge of Adam.”
Booth has had a long and illustrious coaching career, and has trained the likes of David Haye, George Groves, Ryan Burnett and Andy Lee among others.
Edwards said: “From the moment I got in the gym, it was like an instant connection, we gelled great.
“Adam also has a very strong team around him who work on his orders which makes it even better.”
Booth made his name in the boxing world while training heavyweight Haye from the early days of his career through the world title win and defeat against Wladimir Klitschko.

If Edwards is able to replicate any of the same success that Booth had with Haye, boxing fans are in for a treat.
“It’s going to be an exciting journey and I know Adam will take me to that world title,” he said.
