Three men were injured in a ‘drink driving’ Streatham collision this weekend – now police are appealing for witnesses.

Officers were called at approximately 6.55pm on January 25 to reports of a car on fire after it had collided with a lamppost in Mitcham Lane, near the junction with Riggindale Road.

The three male occupants of the car, a Citroen Berlingo, were taken to a south London hospital for treatment.

One [A] aged 36 remains there in a serious condition – his injuries are not life threatening. The other two, [B] aged 33 and [C] aged 47, were discharged following treatment.

All three men have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drink driving and have been bailed pending further enquiries – [A] to early February; [B] and [C] to a date in early March.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses who saw the collision, or the moments leading up to the collision, to contact them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Merton on 0208 543 5157.
