More than 350 iconic Cartier pieces are on display at the V&A’s mesmerising eponymous display.
The exhibition provides a glimpse into old world glamour with a selection of creations worn by the likes of Jackie Kennedy and Elizabeth Taylor, and showcases the creativity, craftsmanship and legacy of cartier, through the Maison’s 175‑year history.
As you step into the Salisbury Gallery, you immediately embark on a visually stunning experience, met by the dazzling Manchester Tiara, featuring 1,513 white diamonds.
The following rooms highlight the cultural and historical context that shaped Cartier and its global legacy, transporting you through the Maison’s inspiration from Egyptian, Indian and Japanese art.
Many pieces have been loaned to the V&A by King Charles, including the must-see Williamson brooch, which features a 23-carat pink diamond in the middle, considered to be one of the finest pink diamonds to ever be discovered.
The diamond was gifted to Queen Elizabeth II as an engagement present, which she had cut and set by Cartier into a floral brooch in 1953, the year of her coronation.
The brooch was most famously worn by the Queen at Prince Charles and Dianna’s wedding.
To catch a glimpse of the rich collection of jewels you have until 16 November 2025.
