Unexpected wake-up calls were given to three men suspected of drugs and burglary offences this morning.

Officers from Kensington and Chelsea’s Crime Squad and the Borough Support Unit performed the dawn raids as part of Operation Hawk which is targeting drug dealers across London.

Arrests included a 22-year-old for possession of drugs and suspected stolen property in Bevington Road and a 16-year-old for possession with intent to supply cannabis as a large stash was found at his home on Finborough Road.

A 23-year-old was also arrested in Beacon House, Bina Gardens, after police found bags of cocaine believed to be prepared for dealing.

Raid leader Detective Inspector Craig Leonard, said he believed the suspects are part of a local criminal gang responsible for crimes involving drug dealing and burglary in the area.

Detective Inspector Leonard added: “Life is getting a lot harder for those who continue to commit crime here in Kensington and Chelsea and we will continue to put all our efforts and resources into identifying those offenders and ensuring that they are arrested and placed before the courts.”

Other items seized included a flat screen TV, laptop, computer tablet, two mobile phones and items of jewellery that have recently been stolen.

The raids are the latest in more than 60 carried out by Kensington and Chelsea police since Operation Hawk was launched by the Commissioner three months ago.
