An eight-week-old kitten, who narrowly dodged four lanes of busy traffic outsideLondon’s Victoria Station, has found a new home in Wandsworth.

The kitten, now living with new owner Daniela Archetta of Garratt Lane, kept witnesses’ transfixed after falling 15ft into a basement before being rescued by a passer-by.

The plucky puss was taken to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home where she was checked over by the resident vet who found her, remarkably, unscathed.

Having arrived without a tag or microchip it fell to the staff to name the fortunate feline, opting for Victoria Falls in recognition of the dramatic events near Victoria station.

Louise Taylor, of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, received Victoria Falls when she arrived, describing her as a very sweet kitten with lots of attitude.

“Amazingly she avoided being hurt by a whisker, and has proved the saying right that cats land on their feet,” she said.

With her combination of good looks and bravery Victoria Falls only had a short stay at Battersea before being re-homed in Wandsworth with Daniela Archetta.

Ms Archetta was at first unaware of the events leading up to the kitten being taken in at Battersea.

She said “I don’t understand how her previous owners let it happen, and it was unbelievable that she didn’t get hit by traffic.

“I feel really lucky to have her now, she is so beautiful and I plan on spoiling her with lots of toys.”

The kitten, now renamed Honey, has settled in her new home with all nine lives still intact.
