Gareth Gates and Jennifer Ellison are playing the lead roles in Legally Blonde The Musical at the New Wimbledon Theatre between September 25 and October 6.

The international award-winning musical will star Gates as ‘Warner’ and Ellison as ‘Paulette’.

Gates shot to fame during the 2002 series of Pop Idol where he finished as the runner-up. He has since had four UK number one singles.

Ellison starred in the film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera and was an actress in TV Soap Brookside. She also took part in the last series of popular TV show, Dancing on Ice.

They are joined by Faye Brooks and Iwan Lewis who have starred in West End productions of Grease and Fame respectively.

Legally Blonde is a romantic comedy which follows Elle Woods in her pursuit to win her boyfriend Warner back and follows him to Harvard Law School.

With the help of some friends and her chihuahua Bruiser she soon realises it is so much better to be smart.

The musical has won seven major awards including the coveted Best Musical 2011 at the Olivier Awards.

“The best show I’ve ever seen. Brilliant,” said Radio One DJ, Scott Mills.

Directed by Tony and Olivier Award winning Jerry Mitchell, audiences can expect an all-singing and all-dancing spectacular evening of entertainment.

Howard Panter, joint Chief Executive of Ambassador Theatre Group, said: “Legally Blonde The Musical is a roaring success, people across the UK from Bristol to York and as far as Glasgow have taken Legally Blonde into their hearts.

“Critically acclaimed on tour and getting standing ovations night after night, we are thrilled!”

He added that the show is set to go on yet another international tour.

The show starts at 7.30pm or at 2.30pm for matinees on selected dates during the two weeks.
