Twickenham families ushered in the Lunar New Year with a traditional dragon parade that went through the town and stopped at shops and restaurants on Sunday February 15.
The event was organised by Discover Twickenham BID, a group which represents more than 350 businesses in the area and organises events to stimulate business.
The group’s manager, Martin Goldthorpe, said: “It’s all about getting businesses involved, getting local people involved and letting them know that Twickenham is a great place to come and enjoy.”
The organisation hired dragon dancers from Titus, who paraded from Twickenham Green to the riverside.
Patch co-working space on York Street held a Lunar New Year themed face painting and Punch and Judy show and across the road, The Clay Garden hosted a Lunar New Year themed pottery painting workshop.
Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year, fell on February 17 and marked the beginning of the year of the horse.
