Julian Clary launches children’s book and hosts meet and greet at Richmond library

Comedian Julian Clary launched his children’s book at Richmond library yesterday.

Teddington-born Clary makes regular panto appearances, scooped the Celebrity Big Brother crown in 2012 and appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2004 and has now turned his hand to writing children’s stories.

His latest offering The Bolds is about a family of hyenas who impersonate humans using elaborate disguises to hide their secret lives from their neighbours, while living in a very ordinary suburban house in Teddington.

Julian Clary held a book reading and autograph signing event for dozens of children at the library.

Councillor Meena Bond, Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Libraries, said: “This event was a one-off opportunity to meet Julian Clary and hear extracts from his new, very funny children’s novel.

“I am sure that the many children and their families attended enjoyed their day and are still laughing at this humorous tale.”
