London’s new real-time journey planning app from Uber Boat by Thames Clippers

Brandwidth has teamed up with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers to design and release an app making travelling around the capital by boat even easier.

This new app will provide customers with a digital experience that includes features such as real-time boat tracking across 24 London piers, integrated journey planning, ticket sales and access to the river guide.

Unlike other popular travel apps such as Google Maps and Citymapper which use static TfL schedules, this app delivers live, real-time information via the ‘Where’s My Clipper?’ feature.

Brandwidth’s chief technology officer Andrew Ayling said: “Bringing live tracking to the Thames in a way that mirrors what users expect from rail or bus apps meant solving for a much more complex and fluid environment.”

This will allow passengers to not only track the boats in real time but also see how busy the boat will be via a simple traffic light system.

Uber Boat by Thames Clipper head of marketing and communications Adrian White said: “This is a huge leap for our customers and Brandwidth helped us reimagine the travel experience, it’s a perfect example of customer-centric innovation.’’

It will also have a journey planner which will allow passengers to quickly find the best pier-to-pier routes, check timetables, and purchase tickets from singles and returns to Hop-on Hop-off passes.

You can also use the in-app river guide to plan your journey around seeing the unique attractions and landmarks down the river.

The app is available to download now via the App Store and Google Play here
