WATCH: Train users express frustration at Waterloo Station cancellations during Christmas period

Additional cancellations have been announced at London Waterloo Station over the Christmas period due to essential maintenance works being carried out on the Queenstown Road area.

As usual, there will be no trains on Christmas or Boxing Day, but now Waterloo will be closed entirely on 27 and 28 December, with a reduced timetable from 29 December to 4 January.

Many train users interviewed expressed their frustration at the cancellations and timetable changes over the festive period.

Tom Moore, press officer for Waterloo Station, said: “We know there is never a good time to close the railway, but passenger numbers are lower in the Christmas period, so it gives us an opportunity to get in with our maintenance teams.”

Moore has urged people to check the timetable before travelling.
