Californian polling station on lockdown after reported shooting

A polling station in California is on lockdown after reports of shootings outside.

CNN is reporting that one person has died, and three have been wounded in the shootings, just outside the Memorial Park Recreational Center in Azusa, California.

Two victims of the shooting have been airlifted to hospital by the County Sheriff’s helicopter, but it is not clear yet whether or not these victims included the fatality.

Sources inside the polling station are reporting that roughly 30 voters and children are currently being kept inside the building.

The gunman is reportedly on the loose on the streets outside the building in an apparent stand-off with police.

Multiple sources at the scene have claimed to have seen bomb squad units arriving, however police are still refusing to give any further information on the incident.

The recreational centre is roughly 30 miles away from Los Angeles City Center.
