LISTEN: Audiobooks are revolutionising reading for young people

As the use of audiobooks is on the rise, research has shown that they have educational and health benefits for old and young people alike.

Fifty percent of children and young people have said that listening to audiobooks feel relaxed and less anxious, research from the National Literacy Trust has shown.

Nearly 40% of children said that listening to audiobooks made them want to read hard copies of novels.

The same research also revealed that over two in five adults listen to audiobooks in their spare time. 

Over half of this group said listening to books helped then when they were feeling sad or stressed.
