Team GB stars Victoria Pendleton and Zara Phillips attended the celebrity-studded Range Rover launch party in Richmond Park last night.

The Royal Ballet School set the scene for Land Rover to reveal their all-new Range Rover.

Guests also included Olympic star Greg Rutherford and comedian Jimmy Carr. Many guests are big Land Rover fans and were keen to see what the new model had in store.

Before the event, Greg Rutherford said: “Ah very excited. I love changing my clothes, getting out of my tracksuit for once.”

Theo Paphitis said: “I’m desperate to see what this little beauty, or rather big beauty, looks like. And is it the Paphitis next vehicle?”

There was a surprise performance by Dire Straits founder Mark Knopflerr, a long-time Land Rover fan. The classics included, ‘Sultans of Swing’ and ‘Money for Nothing’

The luxury SUV, unveiled by Gerry McGovern, the design director, did not disappoint. Land Rover claim it to be the world’s most refined and capable SUV.

The SUV tackled metre-deep water and climbed a rocky causeway before coming to a stop in front of White Lodge, a former royal residence.
