Raynes Park High Street has made the final of a national competition and could scoop a share of the £50,000 cash prize.
It will now battle it out with two other finalists in the Great British High Street Competition 2015 in its category and will also be up against the other 20 finalists across all categories to be crowned the overall ‘Winner of Winners’.
Winning high streets which ‘showcase the best of London’ will receive a share of the cash prize as well as support and mentoring from industry experts which could range from one-to-one coaching to advice on digital marketing.
Wimbledon, Raynes Park and Morden MP Stephen Hammond said: “A massive congratulations to Raynes Park High Street on making it to the final 20, out of over 230 applications.
“Vibrant high streets are not only vital to our local economy, but also to our quality of life, as Raynes Park proves.
“It has a fantastic variety of shops and a great atmosphere and so I am delighted it is getting the recognition it deserves.
“I will be working hard over the next six weeks to promote Raynes Park High Street and show why it is the best in Britain.
“Voting will be open until mid-November, so please make sure you vote for Raynes Park as Britain’s best high street!”
Scores from a judge and the public vote will be combined 50-50 to decide who scoops the accolade.
