As Pride approaches London on July 5th this year, it is always a fantastic day where the city celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community.
From stages in central London to parties around the city, here is a list of events you can attend to make sure you make the most of the event.
The main Pride parade in central London is free to watch, and you can view it from Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, and Whitehall, with the parade kicking off at noon from Hyde Park Corner.
The stages:
Trafalgar Square Stage – Main stage with over 5000 excited vistors.
LGBTQIA+ Women’s stage for women and non-binary people.
The Golden Square Stage – A diverse stage, get ready for an eclatic array of performances.
Soho Square Stage – A popular trans-led stage in Soho park.
Dean Street Stage – A lineup of over 25 Drag kings and queens ready to perform for you.
Remember, all of these stages are free.
Events that are taking place across the city:
1) Fancy a pre-Pride event, make some friends, find a date for Pride? The Lesbian Supper Club girls, Freya Evans and Scarlett Plott, are holding a Lesbian pre-pride wine night on July 3rd at 305 Portobello Road, London W10 5TD.
2) After spending the day in Soho it’s time to dance the night away with Tulisa and renowned Drag Queen Bimini.
Clapham Grind are holding a Pride after-party in South West London away from the crowds.
3) Everyone’s favourite student nightclub, Fire & Lightbox, is holding an all-night afterparty with 14 DJs promising a night of LGBTQ+ fun.
4) Finally, if you want to spend your Pride doing something a little bit different, maybe Hackney Wick’s first HOWL takeover is for you.
It’s a day-to-night party, and they brand themselves as party starters and queer educators.
There is something for everyone happening across the city so it’s time to get your outfits ready and your friends assembled to celebrate another wonderful pride in London this year.
