WATCH: Exploring the rise of sustainable fashion in London

As one of the fashion capitals in the world, London is clearly a fashionable city.

Consumers are becoming increasingly aware, however, of the negative impacts of shopping fast fashion.

The fashion industry is solely responsible for 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and leads to climate change, habitat loss and pollution.

Charity shops, which have seen a dramatic increase in popularity particularly among Gen Z, are one of the most accessible ways to buy sustainable fashion.

The Royal Trinity Hospice Fulham shop was voted London’s best charity shop, and raises money for the UK’s oldest hospice, which provides hospice care throughout London.

Another great way to shop sustainable fashion are small businesses, such as Moma Hilo, which sells made to order clothes, which are all made from deadstock fabrics.

Watch the video below to deep dive into the different fashion options available in the capital, and find out more about the increase in popularity of sustainable fashion.
