Psychic says walking 10,000 steps a day can unlock mental peace

Hitting 10,000 steps a day can unlock mental wellness benefits as much physical, according to a professional psychic.

Walking has risen in popularity over recent years, with 58% of Brits actively aiming to hit a target of 10,000 steps every day.

Thirty eight percent of Brits monitor their individual step count daily, whether we hit the goal or not, walking has become a sort of fitness obsession in the UK.

Research into the importance of green spaces by the Ramblers, a UK walking association, concluded the Covid-19 pandemic changed people’s attitudes to green spaces with significantly more people taking up walking as a way to benefit their mental and physical health.

Five years on from the beginning of the pandemic, viral trends have sought to remodel walking into more than an easy habit or physical health goal, but a conscious lifestyle choice that promotes emotional and mental wellbeing.

Professional psychic Antonella said: “There’s something powerful about combining movement with gratitude, visualisation and self-love.”

One of such viral trends to hit the walking circuit is the ‘hot girl walk’, a four-mile outdoor strut combining three mindfulness mediations of your goals, what your grateful for and self-confidence.

Antonella said: “You’re creating a moving manifestation ritual – walking shifts stagnant energy while focused thoughts programme your subconscious.”

Hot girl walkers tune into a power-girl playlist of fiery, upbeat songs or inspirational podcasts.

On the flip side, if an upbeat playlist doesn’t take a person’s fancy, silent walking has risen in popularity online.

This trend is focussed on walking slowly, without using technology or distractions, instead focussing on using all the senses to experience the surroundings.

Antonella believes by removing stimulation from the outside world, silent walking helps people reconnect with themselves and their natural environment.

She said: “This approach is like hitting the reset button for your soul. The earthy connection helps ground you.

“You could go a step further and remove your shoes in grassy areas for a more direct connection to the ground, while the quiet environment opens the crown chakra, associated with enlightenment, wisdom and a sense of unity with the universe.”

Similarly to silent walking, the trend of ‘colour walking’ involves choosing a specific colour, such as green, and mindfully spotting it throughout the stroll.

Antonella explained colour walking promotes healing benefits, acting as a grounding technique to reduce overthinking, keeping a person present in the moment by engaging the sense of sight.

She said: “Each colour carries its own healing frequency, so when you focus on one during your walk, you’re essentially bathing in that vibration.

“If you’re drawn to blue, you might be working on throat chakra healing or calling in peace and communication. Green could mean you’re ready for heart opening or abundance work.”

Antonella sees colour walking as a way to develop a ‘soft gaze’ which she explains is crucial for accessing psychic development.

Antonella added: “You will start noticing how the universe communicates through colour synchronicities once you tune in.”
