Makeup trends spreading everywhere in 2022

Are you looking for the latest makeup trends? Fear not, we have you covered. Make sure you give this a read and learn what’s trending in 2022.

Many of us have been stuck in or not gone out very much over the last 18-24 months, and as such, we haven’t felt the need to wear much makeup.

However, now that restrictions are easing and we are getting back out there, we need to make up for the lost time.

Every year at the start of a new year, we see new beauty trends developing.

So, what’s on the horizon for the year 2022? The answer can be found among a fascinating array of subtle styles and adventurous looks.

Unfortunately, we can’t pinpoint a clear theme for 2022; it’s a fascinating mix of trends ranging from full coverage foundation that blends seamlessly into skin to sparkly eyeshadow that can be seen from miles away.

Whether you want a natural look or one that is bright and vibrant, the makeup trends of 2022 have something for everyone in the beauty industry.

These trends also permit us to continue with what we know, while motivating us to try new things.

Draped Blush

Draped blush reminds me of the 1980s when it was all about putting blush all the way to the temples. Blush brings the face to life and draping it across the temples, cheekbones, and apples of the cheeks, elevates and frames the face.

Start light and build up your blush, whether it’s liquid or cream, then blend, mix, integrate!

Soft Skin

We’ve started to soften up the skin when it comes to foundation. That is, in my opinion, an element that will continue to thrive.

Cream or liquid formulas, such as cream blush and liquid highlighters, should be blended into a super lightweight base to produce this look.

You can also go without foundation and use concealer when needed, or mix your regular foundation with moisturiser to make it more sheer —the greater the ability of the skin to breathe, the better.

Splash of Colour

If you’re looking to have some fun with your makeup this season like I am, this is an excellent method to do so.

It’s a lot of fun and easy to add an unexpected flash of colour. While super-colourful, time-consuming eye shadow productions may not be your cup of tea, colour may be added in various ways.

When you’re short on time, a dab of bright pink on your lips with an otherwise bare face is the ideal way to seem put together.

I’m eager to try out coloured liner. It’s understated enough to be worn every day. Follow the flick from the corner of the eye with a damp angled brush and a single shadow.

Fluffy Brows

This super-fluffy brow can be achieved in a few different ways.

You can get your brows laminated, do it yourself with the soap brows hack, or use a clear or coloured eyebrow gel to comb them up—the more expansive and drawn-out, the better.

Face Lift

People have discovered how to make their makeup give their faces a lifted look, thanks to viral social media videos.

Users on TikTok, for example, applied concealer to the outer corners of their eyes and up toward the rims of their brows to give the appearance of wide-awake eyes.

Another example is a technique that uses a delicate application of lip liner to create the illusion of bigger, more elevated, and happier-looking lips.

To replicate, apply concealer to the outer margins of your lips as a guide, then over-line the centre of the bottom lip, and when drawing up toward the corners, bring the liner into the natural lip rather than the very edge.

Shimmer & Shine

We’re obsessed with glossy textures this year, not just for our lips but also for our eyelids and cheeks. A gorgeous shine across your face can quickly enhance any makeup look.

The season looks plump, juicy lips, and what goes better with a glossy lip than a glittering eye! Glitter and embellishments are all the rage right now.
