LISTEN: Hospitality leaders urge government to help struggling restaurants

The hospitality sector has come together to urge the government to cut VAT for businesses across the industry to help save struggling restaurants.  

The VAT’s the Problem campaign, led by chef Tom Kerridge, is asking for VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%, in line with rates across Europe.

This comes as official insolvency figures show that 1,000 restaurants are closing annually across the UK.
