Celebrating the BFI London Film Festival

The annual BFI London Film Festival is entering its final few days for this year.

The BFI is the biggest film festival in London, taking place at Southbank Centre and partnership cinemas to promote and premiere films.

Big films set to be released in cinemas over the coming weeks have already premiered, including the new Martin Scorsese epic such as Killers Of The Flower Moon.

David Fincher’s The Killer, Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla and Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn are among the other highly anticipated films.

The film festival is sponsored by the BFI, a charity dedicated to supporting film culture in the UK.

The festival brings film crews, actors and the general public together to support cinema and the film industry alike.

Attendees may have the chance to hear directors speak at a screening specifically on the day the film is first shown at the festival.

There are also free events held such as screen talks, short film screenings, family activities, DJ nights and more.

Festival attendee Charlotte Mudd, 18, who saw Priscilla, said: “What attracts me to the festival is the chance to see upcoming films and to discover new films with new talent.

“There’s this whole excitement that for a night you can have access to a gala, a red carpet and a world that feels beyond you for a few hours.”

With the festival still on going people can try to grab last minute tickets for the last days of the film festival or prepare for 2024.
