Barratt London said: “London’s comedy scene reflects what we love most about the capital, every borough has its own unique sense of humour, creativity, and community spirit.

“From iconic stages to hidden basement gigs, our research celebrates the people and places that make the city such a joy to live in.

“For us, finding a home in London isn’t just about where you live, but how you live, and this study shines a light on the energy and individuality that make each neighbourhood so special.”

English comedian, Sam Serrano from Liverpool, was introduced to comedy when he was 14 years old by taking a course with fellow comedian, Paul Smith.

Serrano said: “I’ve always been interested in it and had performed from a young age so decided to give it a go and got hooked.”

The artist has performed in London on multiple occasions, he said: “Performing in London is always fun because there’s such a diverse audience of people from all different backgrounds which you don’t get in other towns.”

Not only is this particular to London’s audience, but the community of comedians as well.

Serrano said: “Comedy is very self policing which makes it feel like more of a community.”

The Comedy Store, located in Westminster, is one of London’s bigger venues for performers.

Serrano expressed his sentiments for it, saying, “The comedy store is a phenomenal club and always a pleasure to come down and play.

“They were the first huge club to give me professional work, so always holds a special place for me.

London was home to three big milestones in his career.

Serrano said: “I also did my first tv shows in London.

“I did Comedy Central at the Pleasance in Islington and a TV for show for Dave in another venue in London.”
