Chelsea Dog Day is returning this weekend to champion the love between owners and their canines.
The event, on 4 October, is curated by the organization, WoofAbout, which aims to spread awareness of dog friendly businesses in London and other areas of the UK.
Chelsea was the first location for this event to take place inspired by the many surrounding businesses that welcome dogs into their stores and restaurants alike.

A spokesperson for Pets as Therapy, the charity organization the event is supporting, said: “Chelsea Dog Day has grown into a much-loved annual event.
“Each year, it brings together dog lovers, local businesses and charities to celebrate the special bond between people and their dogs.”
The inspiration for the day came from Gaynor Jackson, founder of WoofAbout, whose late dog, Archie, struggled when left alone.
Jackson said: “Dog owners see them as more than just a pet. They are an integral part of the family. They just want to be with their humans.
“Knowing how important it is to dog owners that their pets can accompany them wherever they want to go, the Chelsea Dog Day encourages dog-owners to cultivate special memories with their beloved furry children.”
The event offers a variety of free activities for dog and dog owners to participate ranging from photoshoots to dog-friendly meals, drinks and treats provided from numerous restaurants surrounding Sloane Square.
Not only is it a chance for dog owners to share the love with their own dog, but participants have the chance to spread the love to dogs in search of a loving home.
One business taking part in the event and raising awareness for animal charities is Anabela Chan, a jewellery store on Sloane Street whose pet-friendly jewellery donates 100% of their profits in support of Pawprints to Freedom and SPDC Rescue UK on the day of the event

This year, Anabela Chan, Pawtique, and Chelsea Townhouse are collaborating to host a photoshoot for owners and their dogs where they can choose to be photographed ornamented or otherwise, and 100% of the profits will be donated to small UK charities that are working to save stray dogs.
Liza Gnatchenko, the brand manager of Anabela Chan said: “It was amazing seeing that some dogs have found amazing pet parents that treat them as the best things that ever happened to them. It is truly beautiful to see.
“Having more opportunities to bring your pet child, your pet brother, whatever that is you consider them to be, is important.
“The impact of having a dog or cat around you just makes people feel overall more happy.
“More people having more opportunities to bring around their furry friends is very important to overall well-being and everyone’s happiness.”
