London’s slowest bus travels at about the same speed as the average adult’s jog, according to TfL data, with bus speeds across the capital declining year on year since 2020.
The number 14 bus from Putney Heath to Russell Square currently averages 5.8mph, whilst the average for TfL buses across London is 7.1mph.
Ongoing works around Putney Bridge junction have not improved bus journey times for commuters, who have raised concerns about the level of congestion.
