‘Filling in the Gaps’, an exhibition hosted at Marylebone Parish Church Art Space, highlights the disabled activists who have transformed public transport.
Commissioned by Transport for London and using powerful portraits and personal stories to showcase their impact, creator Michelle Baharier explores accessibility, representation, and social change.
Michelle said: ”Let’s not forget that public transport being accessible isn’t just about disability.
“It’s also about a little child in a push chair or a pram, a mother or a father with children, a grandmother.
“It’s about older people with their shopping trolleys and walking sticks.
“I believe that campaigning to make transport accessible needs to be thought about widely.”
Through striking visuals and lived experiences, it invites audiences to reflect on the barriers many still face today.
The exhibition creates space for both education and empathy, encouraging visitors to engage with the stories behind the artwork.
