WATCH: The Bollywood fusion class taking over London

At the iconic Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden, a Bollywood meets Western dance class is garnering the attention of dancers across the city.

The popular dance class is combining Bollywood with Western commercial dancing to create a high-energy fusion style.

Bollywood is an expressive, theatrical style of dance that originated in India’s film industry.

Across London, choreographers like Aaron Mistru are combining their love for traditional Bollywood dances with hip-hop to create a cross-cultural fusion style.

Olivia Robinson is a 23-year-old dancer who commutes from Durham to London every week for the class.

She said: “Come to a commercial Bollywood class even if you’ve never experienced Bollywood, been to India or know anything about it because the class will change you so much.

”It’s so different to normal commercial dancing. You use the music so much more.

”It’s quite inspiring actually.”
