Fulham looking to climb into top half by playing a bit of Jazz at Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers v Fulham @ Ewood Park

Saturday January 31 @ 3pm

Kit Symons could welcome new signing Jazz Richards into Fulham’s starting 11 for tomorrow’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Blackburn Rovers.

The 23-year-old defender signed on a month’s loan from Swansea City this week with the Cottagers travelling to Ewood Park in good form.

Manager Symons also secured a one-year extension to centre-half Dan Burns’ contract this week.

Symons said: “Things are going in the right direction and I’m quite pleased.

“The competition for places now is getting really strong which is great for us all and gives me a few selection headaches which is excellent – that’s what you want as a manager.”

Ross McCormack, Hugo Rodallega and Burn could return to the starting line-up on Saturday, with Ryan Tunnicliffe facing the club where he spent the first half of the season on loan.

Fulham have lost just once this calendar year and have climbed to 14th place in the league, but a win could push them into the top half.

A place in the fifth round of the FA Cup is still for grabs too against Sunderland in Tuesday’s fourth-round replay with Symons having turned around Fulham’s fortunes since becoming manager in October.

“The game before I took over was Nottingham Forest away and they were top and we were bottom, and now we’re level on points with them so it turns around quickly,” he said.

“I say quickly, it’s 20 games and it feels like we’ve been doing it forever, but it’s not that long at all really.

“Fortunes can change dramatically in football over a relatively short period of time and a relatively short number of games.”
