Skeete looking toward world title chances as he leaves first loss behind him

Bradley Skeete will look to get back to winning ways and capture a European title against Anzor Gamgebeli at the O2 Arena tomorrow night.

Former Earlsfield ABC boxer Skeete, 18-1 (seven KOs), suffered his first career defeat in a very close decision loss to Frankie Gavin for the British and Commonwealth straps at the ExCel Arena last November.

Unheralded Georgian Gamgebeli, with a modest 20-7-3 (eight KOs) record, now stands in his way for the vacant WBO European welterweight title and a spot on their rankings.

Gamgebeli has suffered two defeats in his last five outings with both of those coming inside the first two rounds to lesser opposition and at a lighter weight.

‘Super’ Skeete will be looking to re-apply the power he displayed in his three bouts before the Gavin loss and dominate the naturally smaller man.

A win would capture Skeete a second international title, having previously held the WBA Intercontinental strap, putting him on the road towards a world title challenge.
