Cole Palmer’s iconic ‘Ice Cold ’ celebration wowed fans as part of a showstopping installation at Stamford Bridge ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Barcelona.
The 23-year-old had his highly sought-after ‘Ice Cold’ Match Attax card immortalised in a specially made two-metre ice structure before the European blockbuster clash, which the Blues triumphed in 3-0.
Unveiled by Topps, the trading card brand of Fanatics Collectibles, the showcasing of Palmer’s card was a stand-out pre-match moment for the large crowds it drew throughout the evening.
Many supporters stopped for photos and received complementary Match Attax packs by the frozen structure, which stood proudly at the Britannia Gate fan entrance.

Collector Plute, real name Ben Placito, was at the home of the Blues for the launch and believed the involvement of such a high-profile player would inspire new fans to become involved.
“Cole Palmer came top 10 in the Ballon d’Or this year, so that’s the sort of level of player Topps want to be working with,” said the 31-year-old. “I’ve noticed the big-name players are so much more popular and the ice sculpture is a real statement.
“I’ve been involved with collecting for a couple of years now and the way the hobby is growing is unbelievable. Events like this help bring in new people and educate them on the collecting scene. It’s a really exciting time.”
The Blues star’s card is part of the 25/26 Match Attax UCC Collection and is also a highlight of the Red Hot & Cold chase series, which showcases some of Europe’s brightest young talents.
Earlier in the day, a complementary “Red Hot” Lamine Yamal holobox display – inspired by the fiery aesthetic of the Barcelona attacker’s chase card – was debuted at the Fanatics Collectibles London store on Regent Street.
The graphic installation drew eager collectors keen to see the piece up close, open new products, and explore an expanded range.
Part of the range included ultra-rare chase inserts and retail exclusives, player-worn relic and autograph cards, the first-ever fan-designed card and returning favourites such as 100 Club Cards, Wordlies Limited Edition Cards, and Infinity Exclusives.
Joe Heatley-Baillie, marketing director for UK & ROI at Topps, added: “Events like these are our way of bringing the world of Match Attax to life for fans. We want supporters to feel the same thrill in person that they get when they open a pack and uncover a chase card.
“Showcasing Ice Cold Palmer and Red Hot Yamal at such a huge European fixture gives us the perfect stage to celebrate the players, excite collectors, and welcome new fans into the hobby.”
The Match Attax UCC Collection 25/26 is now available at Topps.com and select retailers nationwide. For more information, visit Topps FC’s Instagram channel.
