WATCH: Move Against Cancer expands to Fulham parkrun

A cancer support running community is gaining momentum at Fulham Palace Park, meeting as part of the parkrun every last Saturday of the month.

Founded by cancer survivor Charlie De Gale, the initiative is called 5K Your Way and is part of a wider movement under the Move Against Cancer charity, encouraging people to get out and move.

Charlie, who survived cancer nearly a decade ago, has since completed seven London Marathons and now hopes to inspire others through the group.

He said: “There are 5k your way groups through the UK, but unfortunately that are not very many in the London Area, so we are driving that.

“The feedback has been really positive, I’ve had people come my way and say they will be spreading the word.

“It doesn’t matter about the numbers that turn up. For me it’s just making that connection.

“As long as I am able to connect with one or two people, then I am doing what I am passionate about.”
