Non-League preview: Met Police and derby rivals Kingstonian face off as Ryman Premier play-off race hots up

A south west London derby between Met Police and Kingstonian tomorrow will add extra spice to an already tight play-off battle in the Ryman Premier.

Met currently hold the final play-off spot in fifth, but only five points separate them and Grays Athletic in 14th, with Kingstonian in the middle of that mix three points behind the Blues.

With eight games left, the door is wide open for a club to time their run into the play-offs, particularly with Met struggling for form.

The Blues have lost four of their last five and Kingstonian, who themselves only have one win in their last four, will be aiming to take advantage having won the reverse fixture 3-1 in November.

Hampton & Richmond, in 19th, face 20th-placed AFC Hornchurch in an intriguing survival match with Witham Town, who occupy the final relegation spot in 21st, only five points behind the Beavers.

Sutton United will hope their dismal Conference South season doesn’t slip even further as they take on Gosport Borough at home.

The Boro’ have their eye on drawing level with play-off placed Whitehawk in fifth so United, with just one win in seven, will need to upset the form guide.

In the Ryman South, Walton Casuals have a great opportunity to correct their poor away form with victory at lowly East Grinstead Town.

Faversham Town thrashed Walton & Hersham 5-0 last time out but the Swans will be hoping to get some revenge when they host the high-flyers.

Tooting & Mitcham have only won four times on the road all season, but did beat Whitstable Town away two weeks ago and will look to follow that up against Hythe Town.

Corinthian Casuals prop up the Ryman South bottom half in 13th, but with four games in hand over sixth-placed Herne Bay they will be hopeful for a strong end to the season, starting at Bay tomorrow.

East Surrey’s rolling hills host Carshalton Athletic as they seek revenge over Whyteleafe who beat the Robins 3-2 back in September.

In the Combined Counties Premier League, Raynes Park Vale will try to make it three wins on the trot at home to Cove while Colliers Wood United travel to Horley Town.
