Kit Symons’ Fulham side face tough opposition from promotion-chasing Ipswich Town

Championship: Fulham vs Ipswich @ Craven Cottage Saturday, February 14 @ 3:00pm

Kit Symons will face a difficult task to end Fulham’s poor run as they host Ipswich Town tomorrow.

The Cottagers have not won since January 21, with a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest, and have had a particularly poor February.

Following the 3-1 loss to Bolton they are now 18th in the league and the good form they exhibited now seems a distant memory.

The side are now 17 points away from the play-offs and only five points above the relegation zone.

Bryan Ruiz will still be available for selection after his loan move to Levante fell through.

This will be a welcome boost to the squad but there could be a question about his mentality.

Marcus Bettinelli is aiming to put behind his unfortunate blunder in the FA Cup and wants to get back on form.

Bettinelli conceded three goals against Bolton in mid-week meaning his position could come into question for this game.

The experienced Gabor Kiraly would be an adequate replacement but Symons will likely want to keep the faith with his young keeper.

Meanwhile, Ipswich are lying in fourth and are four points ahead of seventh place Norwich City.

Mick McCarthy will be hoping to get his side into the automatic places and are only four points behind second place Bournemouth.

The Tractor Boys have trailed off and have only won one game in a difficult 2015 but still remain in the hunt.

The two sides last met on the first game of the season when a much fancied Fulham struggled against Ipswich.

Fulham were recently relegated at the time and were expected to win but struggled throughout the game.

The Cottagers will next go on to face Millwall at the Den next week.
