The South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA) visited the LSE Sportsground on the 19 June for a fixture against Surrey 2nd XI.
Set up in January 2022 to address representation of British South Asians across professional and recreational cricket in the UK, SACA has produced two players in England Lions squads, and 14 professionals in total so far.
Founder Dr Tom Brown discussed their journey so far, as well as the issues they are looking to address.
Brown said: “We devised SACA to be a short to medium-term intervention to say: ‘Look for the next four to six years how can we really help the talent that was going to be missed if we didn’t do something?’.”
