Chelsea aiming to finish top of the league again

After last season’s unexpected Premier League title triumph, Chelsea fans are expecting their side to go the distance again this year.

However, Antonio Conte’s team face an uphill struggle to reclaim the trophy after their rivals strengthened significantly in the summer.

Manchester City spent over £200m in the summer as Pep Guardiola hunts his first piece of silverware with the Citizens, after a disappointing debut season that saw his side finish third.

Also into his second season at Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho has his eyes on the main prize after scooping the Europa League, League Cup and Community Shield with Manchester United last year.

Despite an impressive display to beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 in the Champions League, Chelsea already find themselves six points behind the Manchester clubs after just seven Premier League games, with Tottenham one point ahead of the Blues in third.

Defeats at home to Burnley and Manchester City and a draw against Arsenal suggest that Chelsea would be an outside bet for the title. A recent study has also tipped Manchester City for the title.

Yet in 2016/2017, the Stamford Bridge outfit sat in eighth place after claiming only three wins from their opening six games. Conte was able to rally his team from this early season run as they went on to claim the title by seven points from Tottenham.

One year on, and with big-money signings such as Alvaro Morata, Thiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger sure to reinforce the squad, the smart money is once again on the London side.

With so many betting apps on Android to choose from, it is easier than ever to bet using your mobile. Mobile betting has become so popular simply because it is so easy to use. With just a few clicks, you can check odds, place bets and withdraw winnings on the move.

Whereas in traditional bookmakers you have the arduous task of walking to the shop, finding the odds, filling out your form and then trying desperately not to lose the tiny slip as you wait for the results to come in, betting apps mean you can back Chelsea to win the league from the comfort of your own home.

Key players Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill and Thibaut Courtois are still at the club and will prove vital as Chelsea battle for honours both domestically and abroad.

With a kind October schedule that sees them visit struggling Crystal Palace before hosting Watford and Everton and then finish the month at AFC Bournemouth, don’t be surprised to see the Blues in pole position come November.
