Twickenham ‘Rainbow Café’ event for older LGBT people has one year anniversary

Twickenham’s Rainbow Café event, attended by over 55-year-olds in the LGBT community, has had its one year anniversary.

Hosted in The Eel Pie pub on Church Street and set up by Age UK Richmond, the Rainbow Café welcomes gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people on the last Wednesday of every month for a morning of coffee, cake and chat.

The event aims to bring older people from these historically marginalised communities together in a space where they can meet other people with similar experiences and just be themselves.

Watch the video below to hear from organisers and participants at last month’s get together.
